How to distribute your video.

Ocean House Music clients can distribute their music or live videos to iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify. Here’s a step-by-step instructional.

  • Create a video release: Start a new release or create one from an existing audio release, with key details carried over automatically. Catalog—>Video—>New Video Asset

  • Click on start from scratch or based on existing audio asset

  • Upload your video. Specs: .MOV or MP4 (preferred), Audio bit rate: 256 Kbit/s, up to 5GB, and 720p (minimum).

  • Choose thumbnail. (Thumbnail needs to be a screen grab of the video)

  • Choose a new video ISRC (different from your audio ISRC). We can create one for you if you leave it black

  • Choose language, add captions, preview time and click “Not Explicit” and “No age restriction.”

  • Then add language, title and version (ie. Live) of the video

  • Add type of video, link your audio assets (if it’s not a standalone video)

  • Add contributors, genre, primary genre, origin, properties, copyright information and writers (of the audio) and click “create.”

  • Distribute your video: Click “create product.” Select your video, add cover art (you can use the same cover art as the audio file)

  • Toggle on the prefill release information and edit from there. Select release history, add your copyright information and create.

  • Set up distribution: Select Spotify, Apple Music / iTunes. or all three and select “Distribute All.” Select your release date, push distribute and confirm and you’re all set.

  • Once it’s in your Spotify for Artists, you can pitch the video in your pitch tool.
