How to pitch your song on Spotify For Artists

Here is a step-by-step instructional on how to pitch your song on Spotify For Artists.

  • Distribute your music first: Send your track to a digital music distributor so it is scheduled and processed by Spotify. Wait until the unreleased song appears in your dashboard.

  • Log in to your dashboard: Go to Spotify for Artists, log in, and navigate to the Music tab, then select Upcoming (or use the prompt on your Home tab).

  • Select your track: Click Pitch a Song next to the unreleased track you want to submit. If you are releasing an EP or album, you can pick only one song to pitch.

  • Confirm your location: Enter your hometown and the city where you are currently based, as editors sometimes look for regional sounds.

  • Fill out song details: Provide metadata to help editors categorize your track:

    • Choose up to three genres.

    • Select up to two music cultures, two moods, and song styles.

    • Specify main instruments and lyric language.

    • Answer whether the track is a cover, a remix, an instrumental, or live/studio recorded.

  • Write your pitch: Use the 500-character description box to share the story behind the track, its emotional context, collaborator details, and your post-release marketing or promotion plans.

  • Review and submit: Check all your information on the final confirmation screen and click Pitch to complete your submission.
