RELEASE CREATION & DISTRIBUTION GUIDE
A step-by-step checklist for preparing, creating, and distributing your release
1. Create and Upload Your Release
☐Head on over to OceanHouseMusic.com and in the upper right hand corner of the site, click Distribution Login and then log in.
☐From the main navigation menu on the left, select Profile → Products → Digital Releases, then click the New Release button in the upper-right corner.
☐Upload your mastered audio file(s) in WAV format. A minimum 44.1 kHz / 16-bit depth up to 48 kHz / 28-bit depth is recommended.
☐Upload your cover art. Artwork should be at least 1400 × 1400 pixels and meet applicable platform specifications.
2. Enter Album Level Metadata and Credits
☐Basic Info: Enter the release title, and language settings.
☐Artists: Add primary and featured artists, and link them to their respective Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles.
☐Genres: Select your primary and secondary genres.
☐Producer: Add producer information (some retailers won’t distribute your music without this info).
☐Release History: only click “yes” if you have already released your music before, and then fill in the historical release date.
☐Codes: Assign your UPC code, or leave these fields blank and OceanHouse Music will generate it for you. If you have released music before, please use the same UPC originally assigned.
☐Select Years: Enter your label and publishing names. Any names will suffice.
3. Enter Track Level Metadata and Credits
☐Codes: Assign your ISRC code, or leave these fields blank and OceanHouse Music will generate it for you. If you have released music before, please use the same ISRC originally assigned.
☐Basic Info: Enter the track title, and language settings. For single releases, the track title and album title have to match exactly. For albums (2 songs or more tracks) they don’t have to match.
☐Artists: Add primary and featured artists, and link them to their respective Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles.
☐Genres: Select your primary and secondary genres.
☐Producer: Add producer information (some retailers won’t distribute your music without this info).
☐Origin: Click if your song is an original work, a public domain song or a cover song. Public domain titles are songs without copyright.
☐Properties: Select one that apply
☐Parental Advisory: We only accept “Clean” or “Not Explicit” titles
☐Lyrics: Select if there are Lyrics, add the Audio Language and the Lyrics (entering lyrics is not mandatory).
☐Publishing Details: Add your writers and make sure to fill out the mandatory fields. If the song contains lyrics, there must be one Composer and one Lyricist in order to distribute your song. They can also be both.
☐Save Changes
4. Distribute Your Title
☐ Distribution: if you’re ready to distribute, select distribute title
☐ Activity: Pick where you want your release to be distributed or select "Distribute All”
☐ Distribute Release : scroll to the bottom and select how you want your UGCs to be or not be monetized.
☐ Select Download Store Options: Select the pricing.
☐ Select Release Date and then hit Distribute
