How to upload your music

We know signing up to a new system will come with many questions. While our customer support team is readily available for anything you throw that them, this handy step-by-step guide will help with many of the questions you might have.

RELEASE CREATION & DISTRIBUTION GUIDE

A step-by-step checklist for preparing, creating, and distributing your release

1. Create and Upload Your Release

☐Log into your OceanHouseMusic.com dashboard.

☐From the main navigation menu on the left, select Profile → Catalog → Releases, then click Create New in the upper-right corner.

☐Upload your mastered audio files in WAV format. A minimum 44.1 kHz / 16-bit depth up to 48 kHz / 28-bit depth is recommended.

☐Upload your cover art. Artwork should be at least 1400 × 1400 pixels and meet applicable platform specifications.

2. Enter Album Metadata and Credits

☐Basic Info: Enter the release title, track title, and language settings.

☐Artists: Add primary and featured artists, and link them to their respective Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles.

☐Genres: Select your primary and secondary genres.

☐Producer: Add producer information.

☐Codes: Assign your codes, or leave these fields blank so OceanHouse Music can generate the ISRC and UPC catalog codes.

☐Select Years: Enter your label and publishing names. Any names will suffice.

3. Enter Song Metadata and Credits

☐At the top of the Album Metadata and Credits page, click Song File.

☐Basic Info: Enter the release title. For a single release, make sure the track title and album title match.

☐For singles: Turn on the "Add all artists from release" toggle.

☐Genres: Select your primary and secondary genres.

☐Track Origin: Mark the track as an original work, cover, or public domain.

☐Track Properties: Check all properties that apply, or leave them unchecked if none apply.

☐Explicit Warning: Mark the release as "Not Explicit."

☐Add language and lyrics. Lyrics are optional.

☐Writers: Add the full legal names of all writers. If the track is not instrumental, make sure at least one writer is identified as a lyricist.

☐Click Update to return to the album page, then click Create.

4. Select Platforms and Territories

☐Review the available digital service providers (DSPs), such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, and choose where you want your release distributed.

☐Use the Enable/Disable switch for each platform where you want the song delivered.

☐Include UGC and social platforms, such as TikTok or YouTube Content ID, if desired.

☐Choose your target distribution territories: global or specific countries.

5. Schedule and Send

☐Set your official release date and configure any available pre-release or pre-save options.

☐Click "Send" or "Distribute" to initiate delivery.

☐Certify that you have the legal rights to distribute the sound recording, then lock the release.

FINAL CHECK: Review your audio, artwork, metadata, artist links, credits, territories, and release date before distributing.
