Verification When Needed
Ocean House Music is a proud protector of financial and anti-fraud compliance, copyright and profile protection. If our team deems necessary that our clients are in not in full compliance and as an extra level of protection to our ecosystem, our verification workflow operates across three main layers:
1. Financial & Anti-Fraud Compliance:
Before royalty income can be released, our payment processing team require:
A completed W9 form.
A government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport).
Payment information
Note: Name Discrepancies: If the photo ID shows a different legal name from your stage name, we require a public Spotify link or an established website so we can cross-reference and clearly tie your legal identity to that specific artist name.
2. Copyright & Profile Protection:
Through our distribution ACRCloud integration, we actively prevent profile hijacking:
When streaming services detect potential copycats, they trigger an artist verification request. If our support team can not verify your account, we will contact you directly.
This ensures new music doesn't accidentally land on the wrong artist profiles or allow established profiles to be compromised.
3. Secondary Verification (Social Proof):
If a title is flagged after the initial process is complete and further verification is required, we use a social media validation step:
We will ask you to send a Direct Message to our Ocean House Music Instagram account from your established artist profile.
In that DM, you must provide the specific UPC code of the pending release to confirm authenticity.
