Catalog Migration Explained
For many of our customers, this is a popular topic. The customer support mixed with the ease of use, gives Ocean House Music customers an easy solution to unify their catalog with Ocean House Music.
Moving your catalog from your current distributor to Ocean House Music is easier than you think. Here’s an easy step-by-step way you can migrate your catalog from your distributor to Ocean House Music.
First, let us know! Email us at support@oceanhousemusic.com and let us know that you’d like to transfer your catalog. Let us know which distributor you are working with and how many songs you’d like to transfer and we’ll send you a quote based on your plan with us. If you’d like to forecast the quote, you can head on over to our plans section.
Second, it’s gathering time. Log in to your distributor’s account (if you are not using a subscription distributor, you can also request this from your distribution company directly) and retrieve: metadata (release date, label name, producer’s name, additional artists performing, copyright year, ISRC & UPC codes, name of song(s) and / or albums, writer’s names) cover art, song(s) and music video (if you have a plan that includes video distribution).
Third, it’s time to check your work. Once you’ve uploaded everything to your dashboard, we advise you proofread your work. You can also ask us to give it a once over to make sure it looks good as well.
Fourth, it’s go time. Go ahead and distribute your music. You’ll also need to request your digital takedowns of your music. We advise making that request the next day. Our distribution takes 24 hours to put it up on retail accounts and another 24 hours to process the metadata so you can see your streaming numbers.
Upon request, Ocean House Music can also transfer your catalog over to you for an additional small fee.
